Aviation N.O.C.
An Aviation NOC (No Objection Certificate) is an official permission issued by aviation authorities (like the Airports Authority of India - AAI) to ensure that any construction or installation project near airports or flying zones does not pose a risk to aircraft operations.
1] What is Aviation NOC?
It is a certificate issued for:
o Buildings (residential, commercial, industrial)
o Communication towers, chimneys, poles, cranes
o Windmills, solar plants, high structures
This NOC confirms that the proposed height and location won’t interfere with:
o Aircraft landing/take-off paths
o Radar or navigation equipment
o Safety of air operations
2] When is Aviation NOC Required?
You need Aviation NOC when your construction is:
o Within a 20 km radius of any airport, airstrip, or helipad
o Taller than certain thresholds set by AAI
o In or near restricted flying zones (like defense airfields)
3] Why is it Important?
o Legally mandatory under DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) guidelines
o Without it, your building plans won’t be approved by local authorities like municipal corporations or town planners
o Helps avoid future demolition or height reduction orders.
